Koville Granite Cutting Board Large – Via Lactea (Black)

It arrived in one piece on the first try! Based on a number of reviews, I was nervous that it wouldn't. It's a beautiful piece of granite. I bought this to replace my 40 year old marble pastry board (going to one of my sons). In addition to using this for doughs I intend to use it to protect our new quartzite countertops from high heat pots, pans, and small appliances like slow cooker, toaster oven, etc.. It is heavy, but that's no surprise if you've read the description. I'm happy so far.

Bought to replace silicone mat to make bread on. Bread dough did not stick to it and hasn’t been cut by my bench knife.

This black marble cutting board is a beautiful addition to my kitchen. It is very heavy and about a 1/2 inch thick. It has a polished finish and comes with 4 rubber feet. The feet are small and have little height so I am going to replace them. The weight of it along with the rubber feet keep it in place when working. I recently rolled dough on it and it was perfect; cutting on it not sure. I keep a small cutting board for that. IMO very worth the cost!

The first one I received was broken in shipping, got a good one on the second try. Happy with it.

The dough is sliding all over. Plus I scratched my new kitchen countertop as I tried to remove the cutting board. This was a big mistake buying this. Very disappointed.

Really nice looking marble. Great finish and I like the beveled edge detail. However, it arrived in three pieces. There was a handwritten note on the box "Broken". This would indicate a previously returned item was sent to me. This may also explain why there weren't any non-slip pads in the box.Update: 9/17/24 - Return and reorder was successful. Product arrived undamaged and the box contained the pads. This is a heavy object, so purchase with that in mind.

Bought this one to cover half of my gas stove to put my Ninja foodi or Speedi on top of it. It works like a charm. I am still able to use 2 of my burners while I have the other half covered. It's a nice solid piece of granite and was packed very well.

“Wow!” That was my immediate reaction to this cutting board as well as all of my guests who have seen it… and who have moved (or attempted to move) it.Strictly as to aesthetics, it is a marvel. I placed it next to an expensive, custom-cut granite cutting board that matches the countertops in my rental house, just for comparison, and this product won over the custom board by a mile. It is so much nicer than I expected and than photographs can do justice. I am very, very impressed.It is, however, incredibly heavy. Anyone with weakness or joint pain in the hands or forearms will struggle just unboxing this thing and getting it to a countertop. That poses real obstacles if, for instance, you prefer to have “mobile” cutting boards that do double-duty as serving boards. But if the weight and size are manageable for you, and fit your needs, then this is a special product.I did deduct a star solely because the combination of weight and materials is more limiting than what I would consider perfect. A marble slab will dull your knives and is not ideal for anything more than occasional cutting, unless you are the type who sharpens your knives frequently and takes cutlery seriously. For that reason, these typos of boards are best when they can be used for serving as well. But again, the size and weight make that challenging here.Despite those comments, I would not hesitate to buy this item, and I have no hesitation recommending it.
