Koville Natural Stone Sailboat Bookend Set (Sculptural Pair) – Bookshelf Décor

I've been seeing these stone and travertine bookends on social media and home design blogs everywhere, and I was excited to finally come across a beautiful set that will match my interior. I wanted something neutral that would accent my living room without competing. The light beige color would look great in almost any home! These are gorgeous and high quality- they are really quite heavy, which I guess I should have expected since they are real travertine. The heaviness of the travertine is actually perfect for bookends because they are heavy enough to hold all of your books up without sliding around like other bookends I've used in the past. These come with padded stickers to put on the bottom so that they won't accidentally scratch your bookcase or furniture- a detail that is super important when you think about it but could easily be overlooked. I was glad to see them because I probably would not have thought to buy the padded stickers myself and you definitely want them on there if they're going to be sitting directly on your nice furniture.The design of these is chic, sophisticated, and mid-century modern. Decorating with "natural" materials like stone, etc. is a staple of mid-century modern design and definitely adds that Frank Lloyd Wright touch to my home in an affordable way. With that being said, these bookends could also fit into other design styles as well- I can really picture them in a modern coastal, wabi-sabi, Scandinavian- Nordic style, or even a more traditional home. They are pretty basic and neutral so they look great without overtaking the room. They are high quality and I can't recommend them enough- would also make a nice gift for an avid reader or a friend with a home library. 5 stars!

I'm really enjoying these bookends. I ordered the "sail-brown travertine" color.The bookends I received don't have quite the same wood grain look as the product photos show, but instead have this really lovely earthy brown concrete + quartz blend.They are very smooth and symmetrical, super heavy/solid pieces that fit together well and look awesome.

These heavy, sturdy book ends are ideal for keeping larger books in place with their considerable heft. While the stone looks amazing, it would be slippery if they didn't come with bumpers to put on the bottom so they won't slip.They are stylish and will go with most decors, and they're quite reasonably priced for such a premium-looking set of lovely book ends. They're an ideal gift for book lovers to help keep their magical talismans of knowledge in place. Highly recommended!

These bookends are heavy - more than enough to hold up several large, heavy books on their own without slipping. But they're more than functional; they're sleek and polished little works of art. I wouldn't say they're shiny, but they have a definite sheen to them. They're absolutely gorgeous, and very functional as well.

Arrived chipped but the box was intact... And the golden streaks were almost totally absent. Very disappointed.

These marble bookends are beautiful and have a nice, natural look that fits perfectly with my bookshelf décor. They’re sturdy and heavy enough to hold up larger books without sliding. The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that the color variation was a bit different from the photos, but overall they’re high quality and very elegant.

The Koville Marble Bookends are superb, better than I had expected. The pair arrived on the projected delivery day, secure in a sturdy, well-designed package with an extra liner to prevent breakage. The color of the marble is a very appealing dark green with beautiful veining. The weight of each bookend is substantial enough to support tall books as well as shorter editions. The price was very acceptable, I can't be more pleased. This purchase has been very satisfying!

These Koville Granite Bookends are not only beautiful, they're also more than sturdy enough to hold a lot of heavy books. I struggled to find bookends that could hold the weight of my graphic novels because they can be heavy, especially when a few are thick hardbacks.I tried iron, which was a decent fit, but the books began sliding apart overtime and started knocking over some of my collectibles. I previously had white marble bookends, but there's too much white on the shelf. These black bookends are perfect for this space.This bookshelf is open on both ends, so bookends are a necessity. I was able to shelve my entire graphic novel collection together using these gorgeous granite bookends. Though a bit on the pricey side at $40ish, they are granite and sturdy enough to keep a large selection of books in place. They're also absolutely perfect for my library.

Graceful sail shape, smooth finished marble and good weight for heavy books. I fully realize that natural materials like marble are unique and no two are alike, I was hoping the pair of bookends I received today would resemble the featured photo for the white with gold pair I ordered. Instead, they have brown specks I don’t like and there’s only minimal gold colored veining which was disappointing. Ordering is often a gamble, but I would not have chosen this pair if shopping for them in a store. Not sure yet if I’m keeping them; I might return them and reorder, but can’t be assured I’ll receive a pair I like better…

Very nice bookends! Heavy enough to hold up heavy books, sleek and attractive, timeless design. They come with non-slip pads to put on the bottom, which makes them even sturdier and protects the surface they are sitting on. These would be a nice gift for any book lover. The price at time of this review ($39.99) seems reasonable for the quality and practicality of these bookends.
