Koville Marble Butter Dish – Indian Green (Green)

This butter dish is a mixed bag. While it's quite heavy and looks *OK*, there are three issues that bother me. First issue is the quality of the milling in the marble base. It's quite rough and not very well done (see photo). The second is the quality of the glass cover. The glass feels thin, cheap, and easily breakable. Third is the price. It is very expensive for what you get. I can't recommend this product.

This is a really nice addition to our kitchen. I like to use only Irish butter, and I normally buy the half-pound blocks that this is designed for, but as luck would have it I only have quarter pound sticks on hand for the photographs. I really love this keeper.The marble is super nice and well-finished with a smooth groove for the lid. The glass lid is beautifully made. It comes with rubber feet for the base to protect the counter top and keep it from sliding around, which is good because this thing is nice and heavy.This keeper is just plain wonderful to look at and use. It even comes in a decent gift box if you feel so inclined. I feel like it’s a great way to make life that much more of a pleasure.

This butter dish is great for serving and storing butter. Both the marble base and glass cover are heavy-duty and made to last. It’s sized about right, easily holding a standard stick of butter though a second would be a tight fit. It’s easily cleaned by hand, though it unclear if it’s dishwasher-safe. You do have to put the self-adhesive rubber feet on yourself, but that is easy enough.Overall, this is a very nice and unique butter dish that makes something simple like serving butter classy.

I was excited to receive my new butter dish. I pampered myself buying this gorgeous, elegant, as well as functional butter tray.Let’s say the one hundred percent, natural marble feels so luxurious, and is unique in itself. It is water and oil proof, and keeps butter cool naturally.The Glass Dome is; easy to grip, airtight from dust and keeps out odors around your house. Also, dishwasher safe, making it easy to clean.The size is perfect for a stick or pad of butter; being seven inches long, four point eight inches wide, and a great point six inches thick. Looks incredibly elegant, is a beautiful Indian Green color, and looks great on my countertop! I can't wait to entertain with it. Spoil yourself or some special, and buy this if your looking for a lavish butter dish…

Nice butter dish. It is a beautiful green marble base that helps maintain the butter temperature. The glass lid fits into the marble base so it will protect the butter and not slide around.Both the marble base and glass lid are dishwasher safe and easy to hand wash.It is larger than I thought. It is 7in x 4.8.” The base is wide enough for 2 sticks of butter but because the lid is not very tall it is a tight fit at the top.It is a bit more expensive than the average butter dish but again, it is the one of a kind marble that has been inspected and marked as QC Passed.The butter dish is a very sturdy, stable, and makes a great addition to any table.

Very well made butter dish! Its heavy marble with glass cover. It was built to last forever! I absolutely love it! It is wide, so it can store two sticks of butter at one time.

I say 'cool' because it is true, the marble does keep the butter cooler than any other butter storage I have ever used.This is the most beautiful dish in my kitchen!It is very sturdy and durable! The base is very thick and the glass top is super thick glass. I almost think it would survive a drop to the floor, tho I don't want to try it.There is a groove all around the base that the lid fits into perfectly so it does not slide around when you move it and get butter all over the glass top.I have always kept my butter out on the counter and it got really soft and if I do not use it soon enough, I have to pitch it, but with this dish, it keeps the butter so cool, I think it could last forever!!! hahaha In fact, it keeps it so cool that I still find it a bit difficult to spread. But I am thinking in the warmer weather, the butter spreadability will be perfect!The reason I gave it 4 stars is actually a result of how great this dish is ..... there is no lip to keep the butter from sliding around when I try to slice some off the stick.

This is a well designed butter dish. The base is green marble, and the top is clear glass. The knob on top is useful for removing the lid. This takes standard butter sticks without having to chop them up to fit.We recently had stone (quartzite) countertops installed, and this dish with its stone base, looks right at home. Nice designer touch.This comes in a custom foam-cushioned box, and would make a fine gift as well.

I love the marble material to sore butter on! This is heavy duty marble nice and wide to fit a full block of butter or any number of quarter sticks you wish. The versatility is well thought out.The cover is heavy duty glass making it air tight.It is easy to clean and easy to slice butter on too.The quality speaks for itself right out of the box and the price is fair for this type of item.I am very pleased with this item for all reasons.
